  • Restarting Issues

    Hey everyone. I used to frequent this board a ton before I got pregnant. While pregnant, I went off program and now that I've delivered I need to get back to Atkins basics.

    Trouble is I need some major--- ---

    I can't seem to get back in the saddle, so to speak. So would some of you guys who've been there and had a successful restart suggest anything that'd get me kickstarted?

    Hi Tanya. Welcome back. Congratulations on the new baby.

    Theres lots of encouragment here to help you set goals, confirm your committment and friends to share the journey with.       Hi Tanya....
      I'm in the same boat...well not the baby thing.....but I let myself slip after losing 58 pounds and now have gained 20 of those back and keep trying to get back on, but for some reason it is sooo much harder this time, I do good for about 3 or 4 days and then blow it....I'm really hating on myself for that, so I agree any tips that those who have restarted and been succsessful can give would be greatly appreciated

        I am a proud member of the Second Time Around club. You may want to check out the posts there. There we all suffer from what you guys are going through and may find some inspiration. As for myself, I struggled with always messing up after 3 or 4 days too. This time I have stopped putting pressure on myself about the weight I loose/don't loose. It is more about feeling good. I firmly believe the looking good part will come (but probably not as quickly as I'd like). But until then I will continue to eat things that taste great and make me feel good about myself. And often I tell myself, " 'white food' makes me feel terrible and I lose control. I will not eat carbs....Period."

        Make this a self discovering journey, not a diet.

          you not only have to change your eating habits, you have to CHANGE YOUR MIND.

          You have a choice, you can eat what you want and be fat or you can take control of your hands and put only good things in your mouth. YOU are in control. TAKE IT!

          Don't say "I can't have that." Say "That can't have ME." You know what carbs and sugar do to your body so why would you put it in there? Get past the cravings, change your mind and you're on you way to a healthy and beautiful life.
