When I first started Atkins, I had planned on being on (extended) Induction for 3 to 4 weeks. I thought I'd be metabolic resistant due to all the medical factors I have (syndrome X: hypertension, bad cholesterol numbers, blood sugar levels creeping upward) as well as Dunlop disorder
.
But after 2 weeks in Induction, I've lost 11 pounds
as well as 1 inch of beer gut. That's 20% off towards my goal (and halfway towards mini-goal 1).
Since that weight loss is considered average metabolic resistance for men, I've decided that I can go ahead and move to the OWL phase. Besides, I'd like to reach the wine rung before the end of summer.
Thanks to all of you on this board for your encouragement, advice, and downright positive attitudes. Reading everyone's questions and stories have helped me through a clean induction.
