  • Protein powder, soya protein, whey protein and isolotes!! aaaggghhhh

    Hiya,

Could someone tell me which are okay on induction, I have found recipes with and without that say there induction okay and some say not, I have the following:

    90% protien powder (vanilla flavour)
    Whey protein (strawberry flavour)
    Soya protein (strawberry flavour)
    Soya Protein isolate powder

Does anyone know a good alternative to soya flour as a standard? Maybe one of the above? I have rice, buckwheat, wheat/gluton flour maybe one of those?

Currently desperatly trying to find a pizza base that isnt cheese, egg or flax! ROFL

Unfortunately, none of them are allowable on induction.

You can have the Whey protein on the dairy rung of ongoing weight loss phase.

The soy protein isn't allowable until the legume rung. Soy flours aren't allowed until then either.

The only "flour" that is allowable any time soon would be almond or hazelnut "flour" (ground nuts) on the nut rung of ongoing weight loss phase.

Nope, it's not legal. Atkins Nutritionals is a business. The Atkins diet is a healthy-eating plan. Atkins Nutritionals is trying to make money and sell you their products.

Anything made with soy is NOT legal until Rung 6 of OWL.

Your best bet is to stick with whole, unprocessed foods, rather than trying to recreate carby favorites like bread or pancakes.

Oh well lol - Good job I checked, we read about the atkins bars and stopped with them, thanks guys

Alan finds giving them up easier than me cause hes a big meat and salad eater. I have always been a funny eater, I wish I could eat more but I am the one person no-one want to go for lunch with. I doubt there is a link but I can understand Conells awkward eating habits from his autism more as I can relate to hating certain textures and things.

But I realise how bad my diet of pizza, pastas, cheese, breads was especially when we gave up the ciggerettes. I gave them up once before and I just couldnt believe how much better my mood was, my skin was WAY nicer....i just felt better. I'll do it....i reckon if I can get past induction and then onto owl i'll be okay, Alan staying on extended induction, which is okay for him, but although i need to lose more I'd rather lose it slower and not cheat

I know the atkins bars are bad but i did find some bars where the fibre was more than the total carbs alltogether, heres the nutritial label:

GoLower - chocolate coated raspberry creme

          energy - 116kcal
          protien - 7.1g
          carbs - 5.9g
of which are sugars - 5.0
          fat - 6.0
          sat fat - 2
          fibre - 7.1

Please tell me these are okay on induction

BTW Excellent Pics you have done so well.........gives hope to us that we might get there one day and that it can be done! so

            Recipe for pancakes -

            3 Large eggs
3 Tablespoons of Cream cheese (Philadelphia for example)
            a pinch of nutmeg
            a pinch of cinnamon.

Whisk all together and it gives you a batter completely induction friendly...... then cook the same as you would normally. THey are lovely with a little splenda sprinkled over them

You'll have to look in the recipes thred under puddings, but basically the ingrediants are cream. vanilla essence (or try strawberry or orange maybe) and splender (personally I use canderel its lower too i think). some use an egg too.

I freeze mine in the bowl, but its not as nice as when you put it in a zip lock bag, and then into a bigger ziplock bag with ice and salk and shake for 20 mins! its good exercise too hehe

I couldnt find the raspberry one list of ingredients but did find the ingredients for a different flavour
