  • protein intake

    so, ive been reading up and have established that we want to try for a 65/30/5 ratio. as far as protein goes, i usually eat chicken, turkey burgers homemade, and beef burgers homemade (with or without cheese).

    my question has to do with my meal planning. should i be shooting for a specific number of ounces per meal? for example, tomorrow for lunch i was going to have a salad consisting of 2 cups of lettuce (unsure what else i am going to add yet) and then 4oz of turkey burger. is this too little? too much? doesnt matter?

    If you look in the back of DANDR 2002 there is a recipe section. The meat servings for those recipes average about 3-6 ounces. I usually stay within that range.

      ok so 3-6oz per serving.....how many servings of protein do you typical try to stick to? one with breakfast, lunch and dinner? more?

        Since we are supposed to eat combinations of fats, proteins and carbs with every meal, having a serving with each meal is reasonable.

        Do yourself a favor and re-read the recipes in the book. It will give you an idea of the serving sizes for proteins.
