  • I know it's water weight but...

do you always shed more at the beginning especially when you were "carbed up" prior to starting induction?

Why do I ask? Well...I started on Monday - Day 1 of Induction and I weighed in at 181 and I knew that alot of this weight to begin with was "bloating" from too many soda's and junk food period. Well... Tuesday - Day 2 ... I had weighed in at 177 and this morning I am at 175. (I like it of course... but, definitely know this isn't typical).

I'm drinking 96 oz. of water, and working out, and eating according to Induction level....

Any one else experienced anything similar - or anyone have any "thoughts" of this mystery quick loss?

Its exactly as you say, just water weight, if you start drinking so much water your body will get rid of all the old water - i class it as a bit of a "thankyou" for rehydrating your body lol....

It will slow down - water weight dependent on the person, its generally 4-7 pounds - your hitting that so just know that everything from now, is fat! weeeeeee

According to Dr. Atkins the initial weight loss on any diet is water weight. But after a few days, the weight you lose on Atkins is primarily fat weight.

Hey...and that water took up space on your body somewhere....so initially, whether you are losing fat or losing water, you are still LOSING something that was taking up space on your body. Congrats on being a LOSER. lol

Joy, you look at it the same way I do any time someone remarks that "it's just water weight".

Um yeah, it may be water but it was on my body.

You've lost 6lbs so far. That's great! If ever you need to put it into perspective, go into a grocery store and pick up a 5lb bag of flour. Put a lb of butter on top of that. You'll see just how heavy that 6lbs is! And now it's gone from your body!

                Congrats on those 6lbs!
