  • 1st week of induction done! this is how it went...

I am really pleased...I lost 9lb!! I still cant believe it, it may have even been more had I stuck completely to the rules of induction.

Because I am such a awkward eater and have restricted options in the food dept, this is what I have eaten over the last week:

Bacon, sausages, eggs, rev rolls, induction pancakes, turnips (new ), tomatoe puree, oliver oil, vegetable oil, herbs (way to much garlic ), butter, cheese (probably more than 4 oz some days), Diet pop. Lactose free milk in odd cup tea (still tastes the same but with half the carbs at 2.5 mer 100ml and way more delicious than soy milk), canderel artificial sweetner.

That is my entire diet, I dont like salad and dont like much veg and dont eat much meat so I had to do something as I just couldnt manage so I added on odd days low carb brown bread - 2 slices at 2.5 each.

I checked it didnt slow my weight loss, and i stayed well under my 20 carbs and in ketosis, I dont advocate this but because of my eating habits I had to alter it so I could stick too it, luckily for me its worked out okay and I can now stay on extended induction in this manner until I get to a more reasonable weight to start owl (although I'm not sure it will take that long as I dont eat half of the rungs! lol.

Also I joined the 6WEC and I have that to thank this week too
    Heres to the second week

Congrats on the weight loss... Now that you are getting sugar out of your body you really need to try different vegetables... Vegetables are important... Start trying different ones...you never know you might like them

      HI Fatfighters,

Congrats on the 9lbs! I remember it was so exciting to finally see a loss and a big one at that.

Sandy is right - you may well find that lots of new foods are appealing on the WOL. If you stick to the same old plan it'll get old fast and possible cause you to cheat or quit. I eat loads of foods I never touched before (mainly meats and seafood).

        Hey fatfighter!

Way to go on your first week - 9lbs is a great loss!! You go girl!! Here's hoping for another great loss in week 2!

Was a bit curious about your milk comment. Is soya milk permitted on induction? I'm lactose intolerant and really missing my soya milk in de-caff tea!

        Help!

        xx

Congratulations on your loss so far in spite of eating several foods not on the induction-allowed list

The only soy product on the list is tofu (Dr A called it 'soy cheese') so Munchkin, it really need to wait till you reach the 'legumes' rung of OWL! You could use cream if you can tolerate that, or even get used to drinking it black!

Ros, you mentioned your 'lowcarb bread', which as you know does have ingredients not allowed on induction - there are several 'legal' alternatives we can use - like revolution rolls or flax bread, which a search of the forum will find which many of us find a good substitute till we reach the OWL rungs where the commercial ones are legal.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

            Hi!

Thanks for your quick reply - will definately give my soy milk a wide birth until the appropriate OWL rung!! Always handy to get an expert opinion first!!

            Thanks x
