  • Too much red meat?

    WIth Atkins, is there a problem with eating red meat such as steak every day? I am trying to finish up meat in my freezer before buying more. I eat about 6-8 oz of meat in a day.

    I ate steak every day for the first 2 months on this WOE, no problem at all - i have now switched to chicken, only cos i can have more fat as chicken is so lean!!

      Seriously, you ate steak every day? Wow! That sounds awesome. I need to get some meat and grill some up.

        it was just the easiest thing for me, i'm no cook and i used to get in from work and throw a steak on the fryer with some onions n mushrooms.

        Ive got a bit more adventurous nowadays lol

          I still have steak now about 4 times a week. Its always been my favourite food even before Atkins.

          I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

              I hadn't eaten steak, or any beef, for 10 years. Since on Atkins, I've thrown steaks on the grill about 3 times a week (haven't had hamburger yet though). I forgot how good a grilled steak could be.

                I love steak too but try to eat it only once or twice a week. For some reason, it makes me retain water. But then again, I eat more steak than you do when I eat. Daaaaa.....that could be it.

                  RICHT-is atkins good to lower high blood pressure? I guess it really doesn't matter-because I'll probably die any way...I want back on the atkins diet...I guess if I lose weight, the the blood pressure will go down. I went off my medication tuesday-too expensive and felt like crap all the time. At least now, I'm starting to feel alive again and have actually done some light exercise!
