I'm on day 8 of induction. My once per week weigh-in revealed a 7.5 pound loss since starting Atkins last week. I don't see any inches lost yet, but I hope they will disappear this coming week. Seems like a lot of people here report alternating inches lost and pounds lost (not necessarily both in the same week). So I'll look forward to that this week!
On to the small victory I want to report. I met my friend for lunch today at our favorite Mexican food restaurant. I ordered fajitas, and for the first time I did not feel guilty eating from the condiments tray! I passed up the tortillas, rice and beans and ate the meat, cheese, guacamole and sour cream. I'm sure there are a few hidden carbs in the guacamole, but I'm not going to berate myself for eating it. The portions of guacamole/sour cream are pretty small anyway. The hardest moment came when we sat down and the waitress brought a basket of chips and salsa. I admit that was hard, but I drank a whole glass of water as we waited for the meal, and I chatted, chatted, chatted instead of stuff, stuff, stuffed myself with chips.
So, I feel victorious. Yay, me!
And now I feel better about being able to go out to restaurants and remain faithful to the diet.
