well I just finished my first week and I feel great. I have lost 4.2 pounds and my clothes fit better. I never really excerised before starting this WOE so I could use some excerise advice. I am trying to excerise but still get things done around the house. I started with 15 minutes of not sitting down cleaning. But now that I have more energy I have started jumping with the kids on the trampoline for 10 minutes straight (that wears you out). I also joined the July ad challenge so I am trying to do 50 crunches a day (so I can not only make but beat my low goal). Do you think that is good excerise or should I do an excerise program or rountine so to speak?

Re: exercise advice
Hello,
Yeah Emma's right - that is a great start, but pretty soon you'll probably want to think about having a bit more cardio. Anything that gets you sweating and a bit out of breath is good. At first aim to build up to half an hour around three times a week. Walking, jogging, swimming, tennis, anything like that is fab.
Weight resistance can also really help tone you up and makes you burn more fat just day to day. Lots of exercise DVDs incorporate light weights, which is a good place to start if you are interested in that kind of thing. Yoga and pilates is also good for toning and core strength.
But most of all, do stuff you enjoy and mix it up - you might find something you really enjoy like a new sport or dancing

Re: exercise advice
Just get your heart rate up and break a sweat for 30 mins a day. Walking, running, skipping, cycling, rowing, swimming, aerobics video, yoga, pilates, weight lifting etc.
What about a martial arts class once a week? Kick boxing, Muay Thai, Boxing, Karate, Wing Chun, Tai Chi etc. will do you the world of good - fitness, stamina, muscle tone, balance, suppleness and you'll also have a new skill!

Re: exercise advice
Thanks for all the advice. I mainly have to stick to exercises I can do at home. In the near future I need to buy something for excerise, just not sure what yet. The hubby is leaning towards more of a gym weight lifting piece. One of the disadvantages of living in the country is the distance to everything. Our nearest store in 25 minutes one way and for a gym or classes thats a 45 minute drive one way. Just to far away to travel several times a week.Female

Re: exercise advice
I think the others must have missed you saying you are jumping with the kids on the trampoline for 10 minutes. I have one outside and know that is an excellent way to get your heart going. Just try to get out there 3 times a day if you can only go 10 minutes at a time. I wish I could get on mine but I have a bad knee from way back in my teens with a motorcycle accident. Keep it up on the trampoline and you will see the pounds fly!
