Can someone tell me what to expect with the induction flu? I googled it and basically nothing came up as to a description. I have both the Atkins books, about to start reading them. Is it in there? If someone could please help me out I'd appreciate it a lot.

Re: What is Induction Flu? Please comment
Induction flu is slang for the carbohydrate withdrawal Dr. Atkins writes about in Chapter 11 of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 ed.

First of all, welcome to ADBB!
Now, don't let this scare you away, but Induction flu is a period of withdrawal that can be pretty rough but is usually short lived. Some folks, like me, experience a headache and general feelings of discomfort. Others have to take off work because they feel so bad. Still others breeze right through Induction without so much as a twinge. I think it depends on addicted you were, what you were addicted to, how poor your diet was and what kind of shape you are in prior to starting Atkins.
The good news is that it really only lasts for a very short time, usually no more than a week and sometimes as little as a couple of days. You'll want to be gentle with yourself at this time. Drink plenty of water and try to get a little exercise, if you can. Before long, you'll feel better than you ever have or ever hoped.

Pounding headache, feel low and probably the runs in the bathroom.
I always get the headache on the first few days of induction, that's your addicted body crying out for sugar...one your past it, it should be plain sailing.
