  • Uggghhh!!! Induction flu?

Hello everyone! I just wanted to see if anyone has had induction "flu" as it has been called late into 14 day induction period ? This is my second time around, and I had it early on the first time. Im on day 11 and have been so completely faithful!! (Am proud of myself for that!!) But I have loss of appetite, weak, and to think of food makes me want to *yuck*! So I guess my question is.. is it normal to feel this way this far into it ??? Any support would be great !
    Thanks !

Loss of appetite is a normal side effect of the diet. In fact, if you regain your old appetite while on Atkins, something is terribly wrong.

According to the book, the carb withdrawal symptoms "vary widely ranging from fatigue, faintness and palpitations to headache and cold sweats."

            Re: Uggghhh!!! Induction flu?

Day 10 here and I'm still so tired I could fall asleep standing.
It's actually starting to cause problems at work because I can't keep my eyes focussed due to this fatigue
I'm now hoping for owl rung 1, more veggies
if that doesn't do the trick, I dunno what does.
Date to reach goal: I don't care, as long as it happens :P

                          Re: Uggghhh!!! Induction flu?

I'm doing induction for the 3rd time now (first time 2 years ago), and this time is not as bad as the others. Right now I'm at the end of day 5 and I have energy, no appetite, and I do get minor headaches now and again. I feel the thing that is helping me the most is WATER, drinking lots and lots of water. I have more energy than I have had since before I had my children....there's even a "spring" in my step. Wonder where that came from ?

Try drinking more water, also, are you taking a multi-vitamin? Lack of potassium can give you fatigue and BRANDON- potassium deficiency can give you muscle aches and cramps.

                          Good luck! Keep us posted.

Avocado, spinach and brussels sprouts are potassium-rich foods among others.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I usually post on the STAC board, but I'm glad I stopped in here today!

I'm on day three and have experienced severe headaches (especially at night), exhausation (I'm sleeping 10-13 hours a night), fatigue during the day and dizziness. I know it's all normal, but I'm the type to overreact to things. Last night I was convinced I had a brain tumor... luckily my boyfriend is sane and convinced me I was fine! LOL!

I'm taking a multi-vitamin daily. I'll definitely try to increase the potassium rich foods in my diet as well. I LOVE avocado anyway
