  • Any other Airline Pilots on the 14 Day Induction?

    Hello everyone

Been reading these forums for a while now, and read the book, so day one was today!

I am suffering really bad headaches all day. I take it this is the flu they speak about?

I would be interested to know if there were any other Airline Pilots on Atkins, especially anyone on the 14 day induction.

Hello, if your question is are there are Airline Pilots, then maybe, I'm not sure.

If the question is refined to: are there any males, whom work shifts, 12 hours or more at a time, often in the same room. Dealing with irregular working, eating, and sleeping patterns. Also whom are also on the Induction Phase.

Then yes, there are. Myself included.

However, if you are just looking for Airline Pilots, then maybe there are some on this board.

Yes, it sounds like the flu. It's because the body is dealing without sugar and caffine.

The good news is, it's gone after a couple of days.

          Hi Guys

          Thanks for replies.

Hayden, question was twofold. Thanks for the info on the headaches, hopefully they will disappear shortly.

I am not that far away from you, I am in Hong Kong, I was in Tokyo yesterday!

          Thanks Emma !

That's cute, I was in Hong Kong in Monday and Tuesday this week !!!! A two day "grip and grin" with a Telecoms vendor.

You need to give a bit of thought to this diet. Try to plan your meals, and taking lunch boxes really seems to work.

Well if you flew Dragonair it might have been me !

We are luck enough to have quite good food on board.

Today I have the steamed salmon, leaving the rice and veg behind !

Sorry my company flies Cathy Pacific.

Although we may have passed each other in the same air corridor.

Take care that the salmon doesn't have a honey "glaze" or something else sugar based.

Also, ditch the salad dressing, that too will have sugar in it.

Re: Any other Airline Pilots on the 14 Day Induction?

I'm finding that counting the carbs and keeping my carbohydrate value below 20 grams a day is a matter of food science. I get it right by looking at the labels and reading the Atkins book.

The real problem is not eating any sugars. Note my pluralisation of the word sugar, there.
There are so many sugars hidden in so many different ways.

For example. I thought a nice salad, with green peppers with feta cheese and bacon would be good breakfast. Except there is sugar added to the bacon. I had to drop the bacon.

You really need to plan ahead for this diet to work. However, just look at this board. The success of the Atkins is clear to read.
