  • Statins (Blood thinners) & atkins

    Dear all:

I am in the third week of my induction period and so far quite disappointingly I only lost 5 pound . I am wondering is this because I am on blood thinner medication (statins). I asked my cardiologist, but he is totally against atkins so there is no advice from his side.If anybody knows any information please inform me. I do not want to stop taking taking those medications, all of suden, specially when I am eating so much faty food.
P.S. by the way I drank diet pepsi some times during induction period, can this be a factor.

Your feedback on this subject is highly apreciated.

    My Regards
    Iffi

Don't know about the medication but diet pepsi is sweetened with aspartame which Dr A recommended we avoid as it can stall weightloss!

5 pounds is a great loss though, how much do you have to lose?

Thanks Emma for you input, you are right actually it is the diet coke which is holding the weight loss process. Since I quit that couple of days ago I immediately see the effects. Thanks once again.
