  • Thoughts on My First Induction Week

This first week has gone by really quickly. Here are some thoughts:

~~ My skin is softer and smoother.
~~ My pants are looser in the butt and thighs.
~~ My energy level is through the roof. I actually biked & jogged this weekend.
~~ I haven't had any headaches all week. I've been plagued with them lately.
    ~~ I sleep more soundly.
~~ I have a newfound love for aged swiss cheese.
~~ Zucchini sticks taste remarkably sweet.
~~ I had forgotten how mushy-good butter feels in your mouth.
~~ Heavy cream on sugar free jello is sinful.
~~ I actually planned my meals this weekend, chopping and cubing and packing.
~~ I like talking to you guys.

    Bring on Week Two!

OMG I hear you on the butter-thing and the pants feeling looser...yep actually went down 1 dress size.
It's great to hear things are going so well for you and you seem to have stayed clear of the induction flu
Don't you feel like you are getting more creative when it comes to cooking/preparing your food or is that just me?
I've never tried out so many different things in such a short time.
Anyway, good luck in week 2, should be a piece of cake since you've gotten through week 1 so well.
Date to reach goal: I don't care, as long as it happens :P

Yeah, Sera, I'm actually in the kitchen cooking! It's a new thing for me! Most of this food is my "forbidden" food. Cheese. Cream. Butter. Pepperoni. Steak. I feel a little guilty cooking and eating such great meals. Even the vegetables are wonderful with butter, cream, and parmesan all blended in with them ... esp. broccoli & cauliflower. Am looking forward to adding a few strawberries in time, but for now it's just perfect. Best of luck to you, too!

I too, am on Week 2 this week and you couldn't have said it any better......I did however experience severe headaches, but by Day 5 they were gone....I feel like my pants are alittle looser and I too have had more energy these last few days.....All I can say is, Let's do it together! This, curiously, seems to a X-factor, in the success of doing the Atkins diet.

Keep up the good work, Kate

Those bullet points would be good to print out and have handy for reflection in the future.
Many of us have horrid times when we seem not to be losing and start to feel deprived and it would be good to look at those advantages to keep you on plan then.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
