    Hi FatTony,

If you have(look listed numbers)pounds to lose:

    Less than 20 /can expect to lose 4 -8

    20-50 /can expect to lose 6-12

Over 50/ can expect to lose 8-16

If you, during Induction, lose 10% of the weight you want to lose, you're doing just fine.
If you have more questions, please ask!

      Hey FT -

I average about 3 pounds a week (on 3rd week). It is a bit slower than I thought I would lose. But as long as I am losing I am happy. My hubby in the same 3 weeks has lost almost 30 pounds. My point is everyone is different. As long as you are losing smile and continue on.

Yeah...I've only lost 7lbs and I've been on induction for about a week. I'm very strict about my diet and very dedicated. My fiance on the other hand has lost 10lbs and he's not so strict and not so dedicated. Guess we're all different.

            Tony,

You can continue as is or just add another cup or two of veggies into your diet.. If you are exercising during induction it shouldn't matter.. A good cardio workout for 45-60 minutes at your weight will burn up all your existing carbs real quick, if you are only eating 20g a day.

Personally, I would add some more veggies for volume and then after another two weeks start to tinker with possibly a handful of macademia nuts after the first month. The key is to add enough carbs but still be in ketosis so you are burning fat. Your lifestyle and genetics will determine the amount of carbs you can eat and still loose weight. This is something you'll have to explore on your own as a part of changing your eating habits from weight gaining to weight loosing.

                Re: Sllooooowwww Progress

Sometimes, second (or more) time around, weight loss is slower than the first time on Atkins, but if you follow the plan properly you will still lose. Best if you can get into the "direction rather than speed" mindset, because once the weight is gone, it'll seem to have gone in a flash!

On weight loss averages: Most people lose between 5% to 10% of the weight they need to lose, in the two induction weeks.

If you do a clean induction, the amount you lose will give you a good idea of what your CCLL (critical carb level for losing) will be later on, and will also give you an idea of your level of metabolic resistence to weight loss.

You can then choose what you want to do... stay on induction a while longer or make the move to OWL (ongoing weight loss). Don't be afraid of OWL... many people lose more on the rungs... particularly rung one, which is more veggies.

Hang in there FT! You'll be fine.
