  • just about to start i need help on a few things

    I am on my first day of atkins there is so much to take in but i think im getting there.

    Just a few questions

    1) I am allow 20g of carbs a day and that does not include my meat am i right in thinking that.

    2) Can i use reduced sugar and fat tomato ketchop if i use it as part of my carbs.

    3) Can i drink Diet caffenie free coke.

    4) Why can't i eat peas and carrots

    5) What other soft drinks can i have

    Thanks for the help i will be back with more questions.

    1) Buy the meat that has no spices or hidden carbs, just plain meat with the white stirophome bottum.
    2) No, no sugar whatsoever.
    3) Some do, some find that it stalls, stick to water to be safe.
    4) Peas and carrots have to many carbs per serving, they have natural sugar i believe.
    5) Like i said sticking to water is really your best bet, no chance of stalling there. But if you must you should have atleast 8 glasses of water a day and if u need to a diet whatever or flavored with splenda whatever, but it doesnt count as your water

        Bottled Crystal Light is ok, on occasion. (it is sweetened w/ Splenda, I hear) But, one of the goals of this WOL is to stop our cravings for sweets. Try a clean induction and see if you no longer need sweets. Wouldn't it be great to be able to live without them? I was a sweet junkie and now I am surprised by the fact that I actually don't like a sweetened drink anymore and do NOT crave dessert.

        If you feel you are deprived by not having soft drink there are some out there that are ok. Check into Diet Rite. There are others but I myself am not interested in them so I couldn't give you a list.
