  • 12 days down, 8lbs lost.

I lost 8 lbs in the 12 days I have been on Adkins. It has not been bad though. I still have wine at night occasionally, and tons of coffee with Heavy cream in the morning. I can't give that up. I have not added exercise yet. I have an autistic son and two girls. I can't find the time. I get up with my son at 4:00 and can't imagine getting up any earlier. I think it will be easier when the girls go back to school. We will see. My goal for the month is 20 lbs. I will not go off induction until I lose 40 lbs.

Thanks to all you who motivate me daily.

Hey Erin, That is great! It will definitely be easier when the girls go back to school, but in the meanwhile, can you find time to walk? Maybe with the kids?

Also, I resisted moving to OWL but found that I didn't lose very quickly until I added more veggies. Try that once you are in the induction swing for awhile and you find you aren't losing as fast as you think you should.

It looks as if you are off to a good start

BTW 'exercise' doesnt have to be going to the gym or any other formal exercising. Just increasing how far you walk or dancing madly to a record, or hoovering energetically counts.

Some people manage to include their children in their energetic activities, who love to exercise along with their mum!!

If you are managing to raise a sweat and get out of breath for 20 minutes a day it will start your body working harder and will benefit you.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Great job losing the 8 pounds!

Exercise is such a great release, and being a mom with lovely and busy kids you'll need the release and energy you'll get from it.

Definitely think about moving on to OWL and the rungs if you find you don't lose after a week or so. You're goals seem realistic, but just keep in mind your body will want more to burn more.

          Best wishes!
