Re: Few days into induction
That's great, but don't count on 30 pounds in a month, ok? That's neither healthy nor particularly reasonable of an expectation.
It will slow down after the second week. It may slow down after the first week - people tend to have a big drop either in the first week or the second week, not necessarily in both.
Focus on inches, not pounds, anyway! Inches show. Pounds not necessarily.

Re: Few days into induction
Dude congrats.. I am on my 15th day.. I lost 13 pounds as of yesterday. I am specially interested in your post because we have similar weight loss goals.. I want to be 190. I also lift weights and do cardio. For weight training I changed my technique about the same time I started Atkins. I am only weights twice a week. One day upper body one day legs (lower). I started reading about what I guess is called HIT..

So I guess I am trying a mix of Atkins for diet and HIT for strenght training. For cardio I try to do it at least 5 times a week. I do swim for 40-50 minutes at least once a week. (YMCA masters)
Are you login your foods/workarouts with fit day? Here is my log
http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJ...wner=morovis96
I am still learning how to best use fitday and tweak foods to get 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs. The hardest part I guess is to have fitday properly count/track carbs.
As for how I feel man this is the best part... I used to get raveonusly hungry (and light headed/aches,etc) in the afternoons (pre Atkins) specially after my swimming workouts.. Last night after my swimming workout I went home and did a salad with some cheese/nuts,peperonis,etc. But my 2 year old needed tender loving care.. I spent the afternoon/night with him until put in bed.. I fell sleep with him and woke up at 11:30pm and moved to my bed.. I TOTALLY forgot about my salad or any food.. I sometimes not get hungry at all!! Not only that I feel my endurance and strenght have improved as well. This is too good to be true
The only "problem" I have experienced is that I feel very rested after short sleeping periods.. For example last night as well my wife went to the bathroom at 3:30am and her movements woke me up.. I could not go back to sleep! I felt I have sleep the whole night! I even remember I was dreaming.. When I dream it is usually right before waking up! So it took me another hour or so of tossing around to get back to sleep.. then the alarm ran and it was time to hit the GYM ;-)
I would very much like to keep track with you and see how we progress...
Also, I would like to hear comments about my experience so far and read of others!

I dont really track my food intake and how much I burn I pretty much just guess lol. As for my working out I have an exercise bike I use everyday and do about 30 minutes on there for now, I work my upper body on monday, wednesday, friday my lower body on tuesday, thursday, saturday, and sunday is just my rest day.

Re: Few days into induction
Today is my tenth day. Cheat free I might add. I took my son to the movies last night and I didnt eat any popcorn. In the past I would go to the movies to specifically get popcorn. It is embarassing thinking about how was I unable to control my eating. I dont want to be that way anymore.
