  • Not bad for week one!

Hi, I'm a 25 year old attny, living and working in DC and liking it for the most part. I tried Atkins in college one summer and had a great deal of success. But the dorm food and schedule made it more than difficult to keep it off. I guess the good part was that it took me about two years to put it back on (unlike other diets where the second you stop you blow back up). I tried it again in law school, but the induction flu killed me and made my commute nearly impossible. Then I went to a low cal plan and finally I'm back. This WOE just fits my lifestyle and does the best job of curbing my less than stellar habits.

I was afraid when I started last Monday that I would fall prey again to the induction flu, but for some reason I never did!!! I had a beautiful first week. LOSING 11 POUNDS!!! More than the weight, I'm proud of myself. I'm stealing the AA motto and taking it one day at a time. Better yet, this past week I've just taken it one meal at a time. I've been promising myself every meal to do what's best for me right then. So far, I've had a relatively clean induction. I could do better (had a couple shots of vodka out clubbing), but I'm focusing on all the things I did right! And there were so many!

Let's all stick to it and make ourselves proud!

...and that concludes the sappy portion of today's programming.
