Today makes the 7th day on induction. I lost 5 pounds the first few days then gained .5 back but nothing down in the past couple days. The keto strips are only in the moderate color not in the full purple. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I have not cheated unless bluecheese dressing is not allowed, it does not have any sugar in it. I also had some lemon in my water over the weekend. I'm also getting really hungry even though I eat regularly.

Re: 1 week of Induction
Weight fluctuates quite a bit through a week and a day. Pick ONE day to weigh and measure and stick to it. Only weigh and measure first thing in the mornng (after you pee of course!) The dressing is fine, I use it too. As far as the ketostix, as long as they are showing any color at all you are in ketosis. Your water intake will dilute the results. With those stix, they're like pregnancy tests, either you are or you aren't. Grab a box of patience and keep doing what you are doing and it will begin coming off again. You didn't put the weight on in 2 weeks, so don't expect to lose it all in 2 weeks. This is a great way of eating and you can be very successful, just keep yourself in check. Best of loss to you!30/F/5'6"

Re: 1 week of Induction
If you're getting really hungry, then eat more! Seriously! Your appetite will ebb and flow, and it's important to honor it by eating the allowed foods - as much as you want during induction.
And don't be suprised if you don't lose as much (or at all) this week. A lot of people drop a bunch of pounds in the first week, and not the second, or vice versa. I never lost more than 7 lbs total on induction until this time around. No idea why, but it didn't have anything to do with how fast I lost during the rest of the time I was on it.
And DO, DO, DO measure yourself and keep track every 2 weeks of the changes - they say FAR more than the scale does (people can tell if you lose inches, but only you and your scale know how many pounds you've lost).
