  • Day 4 and need help??

Okay so I am finding this very hard to get through. Some times throughout the day I am fine and very on track and than there are periods where I am not sure I can stick with it. I am at the end of day 4 and as of this AM I had lost 6 pounds... right to the ounce. Than tonight I decide to take 2 sips of Pepsi, I am really really upset with myself now!

Also, how many calories are we supposed to be consuming daily?

    Thank you all for listening.

Heya Hope&Pray. You're not supposed to be counting calories on induction. As long as you're eating a reasonable amount - until you're satisfied, not stuffed, and every 6 hours, you should be fine.

Just get back on the wagon from the pepsi, try and figure out why you wanted it - were you thirsty? Wanted something sweet? - and try to figure out a way to combat it for the future (drinking some water when you first want something sometimes helps for me).

    Congratulations on the 6 pounds!

rough. I know how that feels. Best way to over come those things I found out, is keep yourself busy. If your not working, go play on the computer, that kills ALOT of time

When you have cravings for anything sugary, or anything at all just stay out of the kitchen and drink lots of water, keep yourself busy so that you dont think of eating. Helps me!

Hi it can be tough getting into this WOL but persistence pays off in terms of weight and also it really does get easier.

What I used to do when I was wavering would say to myself 'look, yeah I'm unsure now, but I'll get it another week/10 days/a month/whatever to let it works it's magic and if I still feel terrible I'll think about my other options. As long as the period is long enough to get you through induction flu and you give it a fair try then ususlaly by the end of it I'm loving this WOL again. It's a good way for me to stop agonising eveyday about what to do - the decision is postponed.

            Best of luck!

I know how you feel. Sometimes you're just right in the groove, and at other times, you feel like you have one foot on the edge, ready to leap out.

Here are some things to try:

              1. Remind yourself that you are committed for 2 weeks. 2 full weeks of induction. You've already done four, so that's just 10 more days.

              2. Figure out what it is you are craving. There are actually legal things you can do to indulge yourself. Is it popcorn or chips? Make deep fried kale. You wouldn't believe how much it is like popcorn! OH MY GOD! Sweet things? Have sugar-free yogurt. Or make a chocolate "mousse" by whipping 1 oz of whipped cream with splenda and cocoa powder and a dash of vanilla. Or make cheesecake. (there are recipes on this forum).

              3. SIX POUNDS IN FOUR DAYS? WOW! You oughta be celebrating. Do something nice for yourself. Then, promise yourself a little reward every week, like a manicure or pedicure, or a pair of earrings (Claire's at the mall knows me on sight now!) or a new book.

              4. Know that you have done something absolutely perfectly by posting this thread. One of the keys for many of us is reaching out and talking about what's going on, and getting the support of people who actually understand what you are talking about. We're with you, 100%, we've got your back, and if you need more than that, just pm someone and they can coach you thru!

              195 - met 2/20/08
              180

              I survived a two-month stall!

It gets easier as you get closer to the end of your induction phase. Remember how good it feels to lose 6!!! lbs when you feel "on the edge". Quite often that keeps me from jumping..........

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
