    Re: Eating Bacon

Tell your friends to research Atkins before making any comments. I eat the same breakfast 5 or 6 days a week, 2 eggs and 2 strips of bacon. I've lost over a hundred pounds now. I think you can lose weight eating bacon

Please don't listen to your friends and other "experts" about dieting and Atkins.
Everyone has an opinion on it and most are wrong...dead wrong.
But the book ASAP, read and thrive!

          Re: Eating Bacon

I love bacon, too! I found one that is not "cured" ~ has no nitrates or added sugar. Not sure about the sodium content (don't have nutrition label in front of me).

This is the best bacon I have ever had. I eat it every morning, LOL.

              Re: Eating Bacon

Bacon is wonderful. It's fabulous. It's also high in fat....and therefore high in calories. You CAN eat too much of a good thing.

Dr. Atkins said to keep processed foods (including meats) to a minimum. 2-3 times a week was his recommendation. Some people - as you've read- can eat it more often than that and do fine.

Remember it's got a high sodium content...and again, remember that it is an extremely high calorie food, and while we don't count calories - calories definitely count!

              I wish you success.

                Re: Eating Bacon

I eat bacon, and it hasn't stalled me, I just read the ingredients and look at the carb count. My kids love bacon too, but I won't let them woof it down because it's not the best for them. When I have bacon in the morning with a few eggs it curbs my appetite quite a bit. I have to remember to eat something for lunch. I think it's the high fat content of the bacon and butter that the eggs are cooked it that does it.

Hope you find some bacon that you can eat!!! It's yummy!
