I know this topic may have been beaten to death but its nice to have a bump every once in awhile for the new people. Dr. atkins says no to diet soda during Induction BUT what about Diet Rite? It has no caffiene, no carbs (sweetened with splenda instead of aspartame I like it cause its pretty much the only thing sweet i drink all day. Any thoughts on this?

Re: Diet Soda
As long as you dont count it as your water minimum (64 fluid ounces plus 8 extra ounces for every 25 pounds you hope to lose) and stick to the maximum of 3 servings of legal sweetener, then it is allowed. So 24 fluid ounces would be maxing out your sweetener for the day.
However someone hoping to lose a sweet tooth would be better off having no sweetened foods/drinks if possible.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Diet Soda
I've found that it's not so much the sweetness of the soda that I crave but tot bubbles and bite of the soda water. I've been getting soda water with lime in it... NO sweetener. It meets my craving for soda and doesn't trigger my sweet tooth.Life Motto: Know the difference between an inconvenience and a problem.
