    Hello all!

Just curious if anyone knows why Avacado and Olives can cause you to stall? In DANDR he mentions that these foods should be limited as they may slow down weight loss, but he doesn't say why. Is it just because they are high calorie / fat, or do they contain carbs, or do they have an impact on blood sugar? Or something else entirely?

    Thanks!

As far as avocadoes go...they contain a lot of carbs but net carbs is only like 4 per avocado. It is technically a "fruit" which is why I think it's restricted to 1/2 per day on induction. They are VERY high in calories and good fats which is why I've always restricted them pre-atkins but enjoy eating them at work now. Not too mention they're so expensive, like my red bell peppers, which I also enjoy now beacuse I can justify buying them to my husband when we're in the grocery store budget shopping!

But I'm new here so others may have a better response.

It could be all of the above. Different people react differently to foods---even legal foods. We've had ADBBers whose blood sugars are affected by celery or broccoli. We have folks who stall when they use more than 3 tablespoons of heavy cream daily or more than 3 servings of artificial sweetener.
