  • Restarting.....anyone want a Aussie buddy? Also answer needed?

Hi all i am from australia and are 28 years old and insulin resistant. Is anyone else here insulin resistance, and do you take anything to help???????

Have had horrible time trying to lose weight, did have success on atkins a while back, but the carbs got hold of me once again.. hmmm naughty naughty i know

Anyway, just was wondering if you guys could offer me some breakfast suggestions or where to look for aussie comparsions, as most of the food is from america, thus i cannot get it or have no idea what you are talking about, gee i wish we has your products. Also i have read that you should stay on induction for 6 weeks max, is this true?

I have about.....35 kilos to lose, think that is about 80 pounds maybe........how long does it usually take to lose weight on this. What is the best things to eat to get weight off quicker, i am sure someone knows a secert

Also when i did it last time i ate 2 cups cooked vege and 1 of salad how do you accurately tell the carb amounts, as the back of the packet says different.

Any help, suggestions or ADVICE WITH BETTER SUCCESS is also appreciated.

One more thing any other aussies on here???????? if so anyone want a diet buddy.... Like i said i am 28 married and have 2 children..... Love to have someone to do it with, bad luck for me i married an ethopian ( meaning my husband never gains weight!!!)

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Katmat...
Welcome to our international ADBB family

Not having the 'lowcarb' products is really a bonus as many people have problems using them - in fact the Atkins company website used to have a whole page dealing with the problems, and advising that if you were one of the users who stalled from them to drop them!!

Naturally lowcarb foods are readily available all overe the world - fresh veggies, meat, cheese, eggs etc so you should have no problems following the allowed list of food for induction.

BTW the veg rule is 2 cups from the 'salad veg list' which includes non-leafy stuff like peppers, celery, radishes, mushrooms, jicama etc, plus one cup from the 'other veg' list - things like broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, brussels sprouts, tomatoes, courgettes, onions etc.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!
