  • 9th day... temptation, temptation!

    i'm 9 days in, and a little more than 6 pounds down, i was hoping for 8 or 9, but i'll take what i can get.

    and ohhhh the temptation, i keep daydreaming of things i want to eat, and im getting ready to go to the mall, and ohhhhhhhhhh the mall food. i'm going to stay strong. but ohhhhhh... i'm bringing a friend that will keep me on track. but pizza and fries and ice cream sound soooooooooooo good. ... i think i'll keep mentally repeating the age old mantra "nothing tastes as good as thin feels" and hopefully that will get me through it.

    Best of luck to you!! I hate temptation...I cant believe how bad I actually argue with myself! Try buying a great pair of jeans that are a tad too small...Im a clothes-a-holic and thats what I would do! lol

        Good for you!! Congratulations!!

        But I know about the temptation, I was at my dad's Sunday for his birthday party and while what we ate was Atkins friendly, I thought I was going to cry sitting there watching everyone scarfing down banana pudding!! But I held strong!
        No trees were killed in the creation of this post. However, many electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

          Unfortunately there are temptations every where we go. The best way I've found to avoid temptations is to (1) eat before I go anywhere (2) carry my before photo in my purse (3) wear tight clothes (4) carry a water bottle (5) have affirmations written down in purse and read them religiously when temptation strikes (for me, my favorite is: Gonna stop talking about it and make it happen), and make a game out of finding places that have low-carb selections. They are out there, you just have to train yourself to look for them. Have a visual in your mind of yourself at goal and tune in to it often!!! I believe in you, you can do it!

            I like the idea of the affirmations, too. I am just telling myself that carb-laden food is just not an option...just like heroin is not an option, neither is pizza!

                I'm struggling at the moment myself. My cravings have been real strong today and i'm only on day 3. Reading your post helps... thanks.
