I was told not to eat flax seed on induction....just a tablespoon for constipation, it's in the DANDR book. I waited several months before eating it.

Ketone stix...As long as there is a small amount of color, you are in ketosis, but you don't want it too dark, that means you are not getting enough water...mine always stays the lightest pink shade there is.

Michelle is right, though we are allowed to use a tablespoon or so of flax (linseeds), wheat bran or psyllium husks to ward off or cure constipation, we should stick to the lowest amount that does the trick.
So if you need one tablespoon of one of those each day to keep 'regular' then that is 'your' allowance for induction.
Some people find they need more, but if you need to increase the dose do it in small additions so as not to have the opposite or more of the same effects!!

For use in general recipes in larger amounts - like muffins and breads etc it is better to wait till you are on the 'seeds/nuts' rung of OWL and see how your body responds to larger quantities.

I never managed to get any change of coloour on the keto sticks btw!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
