  • Am I getting enough calories?

I know we're not supposed to count them - but when the total is there in your face on Fitday you can't help looking!

My percentages are fine - Fats: 65 Carbs: 5 Protein: 30 - and I am eating the right carbs but I'm regularly coming in at below 1300 calories a day. I can't believe it, but it seems to be so!! I'm eating as much as I want, I feel fine and am never hungry.

Do you think there is a problem with the calorie count staying that low?

I never in my life thought I'd be asking a question like this!!

At this point, don't worry about it. If you continue to listen to your body by eating the amount of food you need to satisfy your hunger at the moment, you'll begin to see that one some days you'll eat more than other days. Your body is smart and it won't let you starve!

I agree with Megs. Don't worry about the calories right now. During this phase, listen to your body and eat foods according to Atkins as you experience hunger. Don't fall into the trap of letting the calories drive you to the degree that you derail your progress thus far! You are off to a great start!

        Thanks, thats good to know.

It just seems extraordinary and wonderful that I am eating as much as I like and yet they are so low. I know with calorie counting using low fat diets (none of which worked mind you!) that if I even approached that low a calorie intake I was STARVING all day and couldn't think about anything but food. Now I practically have to remind myself to eat!

        Wonderful.
