  • Was this okay to eat?

    HI everyone,
I'm on my 9th day of induction and unfortunatly had to go out to breakfast....ahhhh. We went to mimi's cafe for my grandpa's 91st birthday and I tried to get something low carb. I got a ham and cheese omelette and I believe all that was used was 3 eggs, diced ham, and chedder cheese. You think this was okay??? I know people are always saying to be careful about the cheese but I wasn't sure what else to have. I was sooo good and didn't eat one bite of their yummy muffins or potatoes (which i love) that came with it. Let me know what you guys think...thanks!

I would think it was OK.

I know from posters here that some restaurants (Ihop is one in USA and Little Chef in UK) make their omelettes from pancake batter rather than actual eggs, and some people always add milk to the eggs too, so it is not a bad idea just to ask the staff what their chef uses.

I have found most cafes I go to are willing to leave the milk out if I ask them to make mine with just plain eggs.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Absolutely sounds fine to me, taking Elizellen's comments into account. I eat omelets out all the time...never had an issue.

Sounds good to me...yes sometimes people add some stuff to the omelettes.. but you did the best you could and not nibbling on everything else is great!

Thanks everyone for the comments....Next time I will make sure that I specify I want only eggs just in case they do put milk and/or pancake batter inside. Hopefully, it won't effect me ...I guess we will see when I step on the scale tomorrow....=) Thanks again!

sounds good to me - but keep in mind a lot of restaurants add milk to their eggs bfore they scramble them or make omelettes with them (I'm a waitress - trust me I know they do) so maybe add 2 or 3g for your count for the day just to be on the safe side

That's what I had when we went out for breakfast yesterday -except instead of ham mine had avocado.

                  Perfectly fine.
