  • a strange thing

I'm on day14 of induction I went from 314 to 304 then all of a sudden I gained 3 lbs. Nothing in my diet changed at all. I don't understand it but I'm not going to let this get me down I'll just keep plugging away. I admit it can be frustrating at times but I realize if I give up I will just gain more weight and who wants that? I've decided today to put the scale away and from now on I will only weigh myself once every 2 weeks. I will be sucsessful. There is no doubt in my mind.

    start date-9/10/07
    start weight- 314 cw-298 gw- 190
    1st goal- 300- met 9/26/07 298 lbs
    2nd goal-250
    3rd goal-225
    4th goal-190

I had swings like this all the time Tim. Don't worry one minute over it.
I see you say you are not going to let it get you down, You are officially on your way.
I think the bigger a person is he will see bigger shifts in numbers. I always weigh at least six pounds heavier at night, ttyl, brady

Thanks for the good words. Yesterday was rough I was out with friends and we all went to a diner. I came mighty close to cheating but I knew how crappy I would feel about myself if I did so instead I just got 2 eggs and sausage while everyone around me gorged on nachos, chicken fingers and fries but I stayed strong and it has made me feel even better about myself. I've had success before on this diet and I won't let myself be my own worst enemy, which often is the case. I'll say this to everyone, self doubt will always find a way to creep into our minds especailly when we don't see the results we are looking for right away. Don't let it get to you though just remeber it took more then a few weeks to get fat and it will take more then a few weeks to get thin. If you think about going off the diet or cheating just remember where you will end up. I would like to thank everyone on this board it really has been a lifesaver and reading it has really helped me in times of weakness.

Not to worry. You didn't gain 3 lbs of fat. You just are retaining some water. You'll find that your weight fluctuates up to 3 lbs at a time on any given morning.

Tape Measure: I've lost 42.5 inches as of 3/15/2008

            Mini goals:
            215 - met 9/10/07
            205 - met 10/17/07
            195 - met 2/20/08
            180

            I survived a two-month stall!

We'll get through this together. Just think of how much nicer it will be next summer when going places. Just curious Promise what are some of your goals? My goals are to be able to go to a mall and buy the clothing i actually want and not just what fits me. I also want to be able to go to water parks with my girlfriend in the summer and not feel ashamed. I also have my wedding coming up in august and I want to look sauve in my tux rather than looking like the penquin. Lets face there is no worse feeling then being uncomfortable in your own skin.

Don't get discouraged. Focus on inches, not numbers on the scale. I've had plateaus, small gains and fluctuations through this whole journey, but the thing that never lies is the measuring tape. As long as you are being true to your WOE and exercising and drinking water...you will make it happen. Keep a positive attitude and come here often to keep the motivation alive!!! We're all here and understand.
