Re: Pepperoni
Read the entire label, including the ingredients. All of the pepperoni's I've seen have sugar listed as an ingredient. So while you may be able to get away with counting 1 serving (as listed on the package) as "0 carbs", once you eat over that amount, start counting!
Sodium is a concern for everyone, because it may cause you to retain water and therefore, you won't see any changes on the scale and you might not see any changes when you measure yourself.~Megs~

Re: Pepperoni
Yep on watching the dextrose. Dextrose is glucose sugar refined from corn starch. And the amount of sodium...
I try to avoid processed meats... kinda grosses me out.

Re: Pepperoni
The turkey pepporoni isn't "AS" bad as the regular stuff... but still it's a good idea to limit how much you have, for all the reasons mentioned above!

Re: Pepperoni
That's a good choice as long as you don't overdo it... which is easy to do for some. Remember that you only get 3 to 4 ounces total per day.Originally posted by Chelsey20Sweet, thanks everyone, I'm gonna stop snackin on those and get some string cheese.
Maybe you could make your own meat to take to work and snack on. Sometimes, I get a small eye of round roast from the store and bake it in the oven. You can slice off what you need each day, and you know exactly what's in/on it. It's pretty lean, making it very easy to slice.
Good luck!

Re: Pepperoni
Just a word about snacking...
It's okay to eat between meals IF you are hungry. But if you are eating out of habit, out of boredom, or because you need something to do, that's not appropriate snacking.~Megs~

Re: Pepperoni
I love pepperoni. I bought some to have a morning snack (1 serving between breakfast and lunch). I might also eat a cheesestick (Kraft snackables - <1 g carbs; 0 sugar; 90 cals; 6 g fat) with it to tide me over. I hope this is ok for induction. If not, someone please tell me so I don't sabotage my 14 day induction. Thanks.
