  • What did i do wrong?...

    Hey all!
    Third day on Atkins and loving it BUT i really cant believe that it's going to work! I started on saturday and was 1lb down on sunday then today i'm a pound up!!
    I'm only eating foods off the acceptable foods list and either checking the nutritional values or checking my book! I'm drinking 5+ ltrs of water a day and eating between 15g and 20g carbs a day!
    Feeling worried that I'm doing something wrong!
    Can anyone answer these question please?...

    -do i have to count calories too??
    -what will throw me out of ketosis?

    Any advice or guidence greatly appreciated!

    - No. You don't have to count calories, but that doesn't mean that calories don't count. You are to eat until satisfied, not full, not stuffed...satisfied.

    -Eating more carbs than your CCLL will throw you out of ketosis. It's different for everyone.

    Fluctuations are totally normal, and if they freak you out, stay off the scale until day 14. If you haven't taken your measurements, be sure to do so today!!! There will be times when you lose inches but don't see the scale budge and vice versa.

    If you're concerned about your menus, feel free to post them in Review My Menu and we'll get in there and take a good look, make suggestions where needed and give ya props where due.

    General rule of thumb for success: If it requires a degree in chemical engineering to pronounce it, you probably shouldn't eat it.

      you are doing great.
      yes I have been right where you.
      prior to atkins , i was on a low fat diet , always hungry.
      now today already.
      6:30amBreakfast 1 eggs, 2 sausage patties
      9am(2nd)Breakfast) 2 eggs, 1 piece of bacon , 1 piece of sausage link
      11:30am 1/3 pound of tuna fish, and broccolli rabe with garlic and olive oil.

      Yes at times I doubt is atkins for real, is it a gimick, could it all be a lie, but I keep moving everyday, read my Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution book , I come to this board, and I had a great september, cheat free.
      I encourage you to keep it up.
      atkins is a gift , really is for me.
      I actually forgot to eat dinner saturday, that never happened on a low fat diet trust me.

        did you hear yourself? Third Day? Honey... you have to give it some time... Be Patient... IT WILL WORK FOR YOU...! try really, really hard to stay off the scale...! that will drive you Nutts!!! if you want to weigh yourself alot... do it once a week... not once a day... im very impatient myself, but after losing only 2.5 lbs during the whole 14 days of Induction i was like WHAT THE but then i slipped into OWL and lost 6 more pounds the next week...!!! IT WILL WORK FOR YOU...! give it time... and keep doing what your doing... you will feel AND look Great...!!!

            Thank you all for your advice! I know i'm inpatient! lol! Going to try hard to weigh just once a week! And avoid bacon and sausages!

              stay away from the Salty Stuff...! and Drink LOTS of Water...! YOU CAN DO THIS...!

                  Please do not get discouraged. I only weighed twice a month. I've been on it since the first of september and I'm doing well but when its that TOM you retain fluids regardless of how you are dieting. You will get discouraged if you weigh yourself too often. Who wants to see all those terrible fluxuations. All that matters is the end result. But send me a private message if you want to go over your menu... Talk to you soon
