  • Argh...sweet tooth!

Day two and I'm dying here. I've been trying to send the dog up to the corner gas station for a candy bar or something. Good thing he won't go.

Anyway, I was thinking of going to the grocery to get some SF snack. Jell-O or pudding? It's been a while since I've done induction and I want to make sure it's okay before I head out...

    Thoughs?

Im wanting something sweet too. Dr Atkins says to try to tough it out the best you can through induction. I think SF Jell-o is ok. Im just going to fight mine, it goes away after time.

L-glutamine (vitamin supplement) might help your cravings. It's helped me.

Monroe, I have decided I am going to go clean something to take my mind off of it and I know I'll live through it....I have before. I just ran out of L-glutamine, thanks for the reminder, purplecat.

        Thanks to both of you!

When I have a sweet tooth I usually get some whipped cream cheese and add some Stevia, unsweetened chocolate and some cinnamon. The consistency is good and it cures the cravings. I have tried to go cold turkey through induction (a few times) without sweets and for me...nope cant be done....lol

When I am dying for something sweet.. I take some cream cheese and melt it in the microwave and add 1 splenda too it.. Only take like an ounce and the creamy part will satisfy you

Slay that sugar monster! You will never regret it! Don't give in. That is the best advise that was given to me when I started. I no longer crave any kind of sweet things. AND, that is a huge advantage to taking it off and keeping it off.

Thanks, Bren. I know last time I tried Atkins you could wave a piece of fresh bakery cake in front of me and it wouldn't have phased me. I'll get to that place again...it's just getting through the withdrawl I hate.

And, thanks for the link, Jimmy...I'm just trying to stay away from that kind of thing through induction.

                        Re: Argh...sweet tooth!

I found eating a highfat snack instead of a sweet one helped me kill my sugarmonster on induction!

Nowadays some raw sweet red peppers stuffed with cream cheese tastes sweet to me.

Others have posted that eating something sour (like a pickle) does the trick too!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
