feeling pretty great about induction- im 10 days in and it is easy- then i read that diet coke isnt suggested, neither is sugar free jello- two things i have been "using"...yikes!

theyre sweetened with aspartame, a known staller, one that Dr A told us to avoid

this may not mean it has affected you so dont panic just yet, but cut them out for the remainder of induction

have you been on the scales yet? are they treating you okay?

Diet Rite has splenda..and they are not bad either..although I haven't had one in quite awhile

Diet Coke makes one with Splenda but it's very hard to find.

Yah, I use sugar-free jello and always have. I wouldn't eat it every day, but several times a week is ok. The original Atkins plan allowed sugar-free jello.

As for diet coke, the kind with splenda is hard to find in some states. Diet rite is good.

If you absolutely love love love diet coke, restrict yourself to 2 a week.

A lot of us cut out all sodas because they don't count for your water intake and they are full of caffeine. I personally prefer to have my coffee in the morning to a diet soda later.

yep i found it with splenda at safeway, so its all good and i dont care enough about it really, just when everything is NOT ALLOWED i was like geeze, can a girl get a diet coke on ice ???

scales are good -i got on even though i didnt want to- and knocked off 4 lbs in 10 days so i am good with that. and i NEVER budge on weight it is always the same no matter what so i am excited

You can always ask your grocer to order it Diet Coke with Splenda. We did at a local IGA and there it was! It must not be very popular though, as even the local Wally has one row of about 6 twelve packs. I always buy 2 at a time just to be sure I have it.

Strictly speaking, Dr Atkins diet Revolution (1972) allowed

Desserts.
The first week you can have carbohydrate-free gelatin desserts

not jello, but homemade gelatin dishes using a legal sweetener from the allowed sweeteners he mentioned, saccharin or cyclamates.

In DANDR 2002 which we follow here he still didnt mention 'jello' as a brand-name but

Gelatin dessert made with sucralose

So readymade Jello sweetened with aspartame was not counted as an 'allowed' dessert.

Here is a list of splenda sweetened drinks I got from some other site, not sure if these are all still made or where to buy them other then online. I've had the various Hansen flavors and they are pretty decent, though my personal favorite is the Diet Rite tangerine. As a former Diet Coke addict I find the Diet Rite Cola pretty nasty, though perhaps thats because my tongue still has the idea of Diet Coke as being what a cola should taste like =)

I've always had sf jello and diet soda... I don't like the ones sweetened with splenda and luckily for me they haven't effected me at all... I did try cutting them out a few times and I found that they didn't effect me.
