Hi sid
I started a thread for you so you can get responses to your post.
First off, during induction you can expect to lose 5-10% of the weight you need to lose. For you, the top end of that would reasonably be 2.5lbs. Less than that is an indication of metabolic resistance. More than that is a gift.
Now, it's also important to note that induction is a 14 day process - not a 6 day one. Before you get all
- get through the first 14 days. Eat clean. Drink tons and tons of water - and just when you think you've drank enough water to
- drink more.
Remember to get your
or
time in. Exercise is non-negotiable, and with just 25lbs to lose, it's going to be essential to your success.
Not bad. Not great. A couple of boiled eggs on the run are a good choice. Ideally, you'd have included a few veggies in there too, i.e. scrambled eggs w/ mushrooms, tomato, onion and a bit of cheese. You want to spread your carb intake through out your day. This avoids blood sugar spikes and helps you keep variety in your menus
Yikes! What was in that salad that equaled 10 grams of carb??! Romaine with some tomato or olives or something shouldn't have added up to 10 grams unless you ate a mountain of it! Chicken doesn't have carbs. The dressing at 2 carbs is just fine. The tea?? Welllll.....if it's caffeine free and aspartame free, I'll give you a free pass on it.
. If not...
. Refer back to the water comment earlier.
You need more veggies here. You're spending about 20% of your carb allottment per day on tea. It's not how you're supposed to be spending your carbs. You don't mention how much sour cream you're eating, but it should be no more than 1oz a day.
Your percentages should be coming in around 65%fat/30%protein/5% carb. During induction I'm more successful at 70%/25%/5% . If you don't have a Fitday account, get one.
Be sure to take your measurements too. Scales lie (read this : Why The Scale Lies ). The tape measure won't.
Honestly? I think the strips are garbage. If you pay attention to your body it'll tell you all you need to know.
Metallic taste in your mouth?
More thirsty than usual?
Reduced appetite?
Stronger smelling urine and sweat? (gross, I know, but Atkineers get excited over this kind of thing. LOL)
Needing less sleep?
Increased energy?
All of these things are signs of ketosis. You don't need the strips to tell you that.
However, if you do get the strips, know that it doesn't matter what color the strips turn- so long as they turn. It doesn't matter if they register a few to moderate to deep ketosis, so long as they register. It's sort of like being pregnant. You either are or you aren't. For some people it's a great motivator to see those strips turning. Me? I believe it to be a waste, but do what works for you!!
Hang in there and if you have questions...ask! It's what we're here for!
