  • Eating too little -- help?

    Hi everyone.

So I'm not new to Atkins by any means. But sadly, not unlike many "induction veterans", I've slipped up over the years.

I really want to do it for good this time and I think my mind is in the right place for actual success.

The problem is, it's gotten to the point where I just don't really want to eat. And if someone told me that before I started I'd say they were crazy. I love food. I easily ate nearly twice the amount of calories I should've been eating before I started induction a week and a half ago. But right now I just have no desire to eat.

I know eating small portions of food frequently is best for one's metabolism, but it's difficult to make myself eat something if I'm not hungry.

In the past few days I've been working out a lot, and also drinking a lot of tea (unsweetened). I'm thinking maybe the tea is supressing my appetite, but just not sure.

    Any advice?

I think we all have days like this...

is it just the odd day or all the time?

Make sure you get your veggies in, and eat small things as often as possible, i understand its hard but its important not to let your body go into starvation mode.

Post your menu. Include the amounts of the foods you eat and drink.

not2late, well, for instance, yesterday I had 2 hot dogs in the morning, nothing for lunch, and for dinner a salad with peppers, cheese, ham and beef, with ranch dressing. I ate about 1/2 of the salad (maybe 2 cups).

I know it's a huge no-no to skip meals but that's why I'm seeking the help here. As much as I like cooking I've found I just don't have time in the past few days. Is there some kind of healthy light snack that's easy to prepare?

You need to have food on hand: boiled eggs, cans of tuna, etc. And you need to set aside some time to prepare foods ahead of time. On weekends I cook a bunch of chicken breasts. During the week, that chicken becomes my "go-to" food. Also, when I cook dinner, I cook extra that way I have an extra serving of something in case I don't feel like cooking or in case I need something fast. For example, I had lamb chops last night. It didn't take more than a few extra minutes to cook a couple extra chops. Those chops were my lunch today.

you really have to eat on this diet.
if i am hungry, i have a 2 eggs, some zero carb sausage.
in my life where i slip is when I start missing meals.
please eat from the induction and enjoy, don't starve yourself.

I found that adding more veges helped me to have more of an appetite . Sometimes when your carbs get too low you can lose your appetite!
