  • I'm not hungry!?

    I suck on this diet!
    I am not an all egg, meat, cheese person!!
    I so want my waffles & all the other things I'm not suppose to have.
    My husband says I am actually not eating enough, but when I go to look in the fridge, I don't want any food(feel almost yuck just looking at it)

    Is this normal? How do I get over it?

    Atkins isn't only about eggs, meat, and cheese. You have to eat your three cups of veggies as well. The higher you move up the rungs, the more food choices you'll have.

    I have cravings for things that are off plan all the time, BUT that doesn't mean I give in. It takes time to get adjusted to your new way of eating. My cravings have gotten much better with time though, mainly because I love the way I feel. I feel a lot more energetic and lively than I did before when I was eating carbage. Give it time, but remember to stay strong and on plan.
    Drink lots of water and eat your veggies

      Hi ya

      I almost feel the same way sometimes. But then I know I'm just not use to eating healthy things like salad. and I make one. When I am so hungry (b/c i didn't want any of the meat again during the day)...and the salad tastes like heaven!!!! you have season it up though. With the oil, vinegar and all the fixings!!! Then you're so proud of yourself b/c you know that weights dropping. That's been my experience.

        When I started back in June I was not an egg, meat, and cheese person. I struggled with breakfast the hardest. However, lots of advice from the board got me through introduction. I started this WOL back in June and I can say my taste buds have changed. I still do not like eggs, but I am enjoying all the wonderful receipes I found on Linda's site. Now that I am in OWL and moved up to the nuts rung I have a muffin in a minute for breakfast and I am all set. My point is if you can stick it out you will be happier in a few months. I have never been happier with my eating style and it shows. Just this week I have had to family members ask to borrow my book so they can get started. And as a bonus my children are eating better. Just hang in there and you will see.

          Shawna, I agree... this is defintely not all meat, cheese, and eggs. Have you read the book?

          To answer your questoin, though, yes -- it's normal not to be hungry after a few days. It means your body is in ketosis, and natural appetite supression has kicked in, which is a wonderful thing!
