  • Im just curious...

    If anyone was/is the same start weight/height as me or similar. I am 5'3" and currently at 199 lbs. My goal is in the 140-145 area and honestly I am curious to know what kind of results people my size are having.

    My start weight was only 9 pounds more than you and I am 5'4" so we are quite similar. So far (in two months) I have lost 13 pounds or about 1.6 pounds a week which is a healthy amount. I also do strenth training (on a bowflex) three times a week and use the treadmill three times a week as well.

    One thing that kick started my weight loss after induction was switching to OWL 1 (I stayed on an extended induction far too long) and the extra veggies really seem to help my losses. Last time I did Atkins I started at 177 pounds and went down to 134 in about six months but I only did induction (big mistake) so I never learned to eat properly and went back to my old ways and gained the weight back (plus some more).

    Overall I find my losses to be slower than people who are bigger to start (but that makes sense) so I just try to look at every pound as one further step away from where I was.

    Good luck and make sure to do a clean induction. It is really important!

        Thanks to the both of you!! I am suspecting my weight loss will be slow and gradual, but thats ok! I just want to be healthy and if I can work to make it stay off that will be great thing. I'm quite top heavy so Im wondering how losing weight will make me look. Its weird to think of myself and my body as anything different...but Im stoked to notice changes.

        BY the way Im SOO JEALOUS that you have a bowflex....

          Hi, welcome Kristen. I am 5'2 and you can see by my siggy that I am a slowwww loser. Right now I am bouncing back and forth between 149-151 actually up from the 148.5 in my siggy.
          If you want to see success look for mitzimarie's journal. I think she is your height and started about the same as you and has reached goal! Good luck, see you around the board.

              Hi Kristen!
              As you can see by my signature, we are close. I'm losing about 1.5 pounds a week.
              That's an average. . . I just got through a 2 week period of not losing anything and then BAM! - 2 pounds gone. Everyone's different, but stick with the plan and you will have success!
