During induction I was wondering if you can eat too much meat, or do you need to portion it out? and also could that make you gain weight if you ate too much meat? I know in Dr Atkins book it says you can eat liberal amounts of meats...

Re: Meats
You can eat too much protein. Excess protein will be converted to glycogen and metabolised as glucose, so it is like having excess carbs. I am not sure what excess is in the case of protein but personally I tend to keep mine to no more than 100-125g per day and at around 30% of my calories.
Note that that is 100-125g or so of protein - not of meat. Meat has other constituents and there are other sources of protein. I let Fitday tot it up and just keep it pretty much in that region as I go along.Kate

Re: Meats
Yep i completely agree with Kate, however its not something you really need to worry about during induction, only after that...
During induction just do what you need to do to sustain your appetite, you will probably find by day 5 you dont have much of one anyway.
