  • Induction Again

Don't know if this is "legal" or not but I'm going back on induction to lose more weight. I started at 248 - got down to 223 or so a couple weeks ago. I've been hovering there... am 225 now... and am thinking of doing induction to drop another 15-20 pound quick - before X-Mas. What do you guys think?

    NOPE!

I lost more weight on OWL you just gotta get thru PISS first - Post Induction Stall Syndrome

veggies are good for you, what have you done? just added 5 net carbs of veggies? let your body catch up with the scales, its more than likely that its now losing inches to catch up - have you been taking measurements??

I agree...I went through my stall post induction and was so tempted to go back but I stayed the course and am now losing weight very consistently with about 1.5 pounds a week.

        Re: Induction Again

I've been being pretty good - a little slip on T-giving with a piece of rasberry pie but other than that - about 40 - 60 carbs a day and I've been maintaining the weight. I've continued to work out (lifting weights too) and I know I'm adding muscle mass so maintaining the weight means I'm still losing some fat. Honestly, I lost so much weight so fast on induction I was just happy to plateau for awhile. I figure if I can do another 2 weeks or 3 weeks of induction and drop another 15 pounds... I'll onlly have 20 more to go after that. Hummmmm......

You might have also found your CCLL. If you did, drop back to the level you lost weight. So if you were losing weight at 35 net carbs daily, go back to that and see what happens to your pounds AND inches.

Remember, Dr. Atkins defined a weight loss plateau as 4 consecutive weeks without loss of pounds OR inches. So if you are losing inches but the scale is stuck, you are NOT in a plateau.

The other thing to do is to go over your OWL menu and see the foods/drinks you have added. If you can find that your loss began to slow when you added something, remove it and see what happens. ValidRogue went through a slow down period only to find that the sugar-free ice tea caused it.

            Re: Induction Again

Bear in mind that a good proportion of the weight lost during induction tends to be water. If you have been eating low carb, drinking your water and hopefully moving around a bit, you will not have another 15 pounds of water to lose, without dehydration. I concur with the other posts that OWL is your best bet to continue loss of fat.

Keep your chin up. It's going to keep happening - just maybe not with the giddy speed of Induction.

              Re: Induction Again

I agree with the others. This program is designed so you can learn as you go -- knowing how your body reacts to new foods. If you go back to induction all the time, you'll never learn the importance of making this a life-style change. OWL is very important and you will find that by keeping a food journal and writing down how different foods affect you...you'll be able to plan your meals and make changes that will be educational and healthy for you. Up your water, Up your exercise if you want to improve your routine, but continue the program as it was written. It will happen. Take your measurements...are you still losing inches? Up a few pounds does not mean the program has quit working...there are so many reasons, water gain, PMS, muscle gain, stress, and many more. You'll make it, just keep going!! Best wishes.
