This is day one for me. I am trying to find something other than eggs for breakfast, not one of my favourite foods. I have been looking for a breakfast sausage that has not carbs and have not found one. I was just wondering if anyone has found one out there?

    Thanks

    Its rare to find any!

Think outside of the box, i usually have leftovers from dinner! or i'll make a crustless quiche. one of those will do me for breakfasts for the whole week!

      Re: Breakfast ideas

I found these great turkey sausages called "Tail Gate Sausages" They have one carb per sausage which isn't bad from the reading I've been doing. Also make sure there is 0% for sugars.

Speaking of quiche, can someone forward me an awesome recipe for this???

      Thanks

How about fresh ground pork? Make up patties in advance and freeze them.

          Kristen this is Elizellens recipe

          Ingredients
          4 ounces grated cheese
          4 medium eggs
4 fluid ounces (1/2 cup) double cream (heavy cream in USA)
chopped cooked veggies to taste (2-4 ounces depending on what is in the fridge)
chopped cooked bacon or other meat (2-4 ounces depending on how 'meaty' I want it)
1 tablespoon chives or chopped spring onions/green onions
spices if you like - about one teaspoon or more
          Method
          Set oven to 150 C/300 F
Spread 3 ounces of the grated cheese over the bottom of an oiled/greased ovenproof dish (or divide between muffin tin holes)
sprinkle chives/onions over cheese as well as any spices you want
sprinkle chopped veggies and/or meat over
Mix eggs and cream together and add the last ounce of grated cheese and mix together.
Pour liquid over and around the meat/veggie/cheese
Bake for about 30-40 minutes till browned and firm to the touch (less for muffins)

Not sure if you are a fan of tuna at breakfast, but I sometimes go for tuna salad for a change. I thought at first it would be too much for breakfast, but it is really not. Give it a try I would say.

Since I'm reading this I'll say thanks for the ideas too! I made that quiche recipe OMG its sooo good! I made 6 muffin tins worth out of that recipe. I used bacon, marble cheese, green onion and brocolli. Can someone help calculate carbs for me? I used one cup brocolli for whole recipe, 1 green onion, and probably about one cup of cheese. Thanks.

I found sausage at the store that I read over and it has no sugar Bob Evans Original. IF anyone thinks this is not a good one, I would like to know. It is what I have been eating for breakfast.

This is the second time trying Atkins and hopefully this time it will be a permanent life change for me.

                          Re: Breakfast ideas

                          Hey,

Have you tried the No Bread French Toast Yet?

It's made with eggs but it tastes like sweet(very soft and fluffy) french toast

Mix 3 eggs and 2 oz of cream cheese in a bowl until it turns almost to foam

(I add a little vanilla extract)

I sprinkle Cinnamon and Nutmeg in the mixture and one packet of Splenda

Butter up the frying pan and pour in mixture

fry each side until golden brown and enjoy

pour a little low carb syrup on it if you like (I don't)

I eat these with Bacon and One Flaxseed Muffin.

this is about 6 carbs without the syrup
the Flaxseed Muffin is about 2 carbs

If you want i'll give the recipe for Flaxseed Muffins they taste like bread but only 2 carbs per serving.

                          Good Luck!

When I did Atkins the first time, I sort of killed my love of eggs after awhile and switched to "Dinner for Breakfast".. I would make "bowls" of stuff.. Fake taco bowl, fake fajita bowl, etc
