  • Starting again

Ok I wasn't going to post but I think its better if I confess.. so I did bad on the weekend of Thanksgiving... (was also sick with Kidney stones) but that wasn't the reason why I went off Atkins.. (it really makes me mad that I went off it cause I was doing soooooooooooo good).. I gained most of my weight back except for 3lbs.. But I re-started on Monday and as of today I lost 4 more lbs... Okay so it feels better that I confessed.. lol..

      Re: Starting again

Once you get back on track the rest will come off. Last Friday I was out for a celebration and had two glasses of wine (even though I am only on OWL 1) and weighed myself and was up 1.5 pounds. I knew logically it was not fat but I was still happy that the next day it was gone and I lost an additional pound.

don't think so much on and off, its a way of life, no one is perfect....no one. we all make mistakes , just point your life in the direction you want to go . If you fall down a 1000 times, get up 1001. You can do it. It gets easier. Build Momentum.

Well done for catching yourself and getting back on the Atkins wagon

Now - how are you going to make sure the same thing doesnt happen again over the festive season? Start planning your strategies for staying on-plan in advance so you can stick to it then.

One of our members used to have a quote in their signature which was very apt
Failing to plan is planning to fail
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

            Re: Starting again

I totally understand where you are coming from. I am constantly falling of the wagon which is why I haven't lost more than I have. But the biggest thing that I have learned is to stick with it instead of switching to another diet. It seems like every time I get down to 188 I seem to back slide. I am restarting induction once again. Just hang in there.

Kudos to you for jumping back on the wagon. You can do it! Now is the time to look to the future and learn from the past.
Elizellen is right... planning before a festivity is the best way to stick to the programme. Make yourself some legal treats beforehand... carry high fat snacks with you... don't let yourself get too hungry...
There are some awesome holiday tips and recipes on the board, which'll be a big help to you and everyone else.

                      Re: Starting again

Hi everyone! I am new to message boards in general, but I need this one. I went from 250 at my highest to 145 at my lowest mostly in part by staying away from carbs. It was kind of a half witted version at the adkins plan and minimizing my intake. I am now about 158 and seem to be creeping up. A big no no after working so hard at loosing. I also had a few health related issues that chopped off some pounds that took me down to the lowest pounds I saw. Wow, I don't want to gain this fat back. I am having trouble getting into ketosis. Seems like I am doing the right things, but, to be honest, I am not messuring everything. I use creamers, but, just cut down. Splenda for sweet, and the like. Man, tough this time around and, well, the goodies just seem to keep coming into work, ug!
