  • Fast Food Restaurants

    Sometimes im really busy and dont have time to make food for myself. i was wondering if there any good fast food places that are atkins diet friendly.

    i tried the low carb six dollar burger at carls jr with no ketchup. i think the only dressing on it was mustard and mayo. is that good?

    and i wanted to go to yoshinoya and order the chicken and vegatables with no rice. no teriyaki sauce of course. are their vegatables just steamed? cuz there seems to be some type of thick sauce on them, or is that just the juices from the veggies? and is their chicken induction friendly?

    Are you still in induction? Mayo and mustard are fine as long as there is no sugar added to any. Burger is a processed meat though and they usually mix it with so many junk stuff that I wouldn't dare eating..

    Why not trying chicken (not processed) salad or something? Just avoid processed food as much as possible and stick with the acceptable food list. And I would definitely stay away from burgers. Try Chicken fillet (no bread), steak (no bread), etc.

      Yeah.processed meat is not the best. But I am very busy also...and I have to eat on the run sometimes.
      In and out burger has "protein" style burgers that are wrapped in lettuce. Just make sure you don't get the spread. It has carbs. Just stick with your mustard.

        I'm assuming Yoshinoya is an Asian restaurant? Asian food is infamous for having sugar in it, be careful with what you choose.

          I'd like to add in a question. I looked at the mcdonald's website nutrition info, and their grilled chicken filet has sugar listed in the seasoning ingredients. Does that make it totally off limits?

            Yeah, we're not supposed to eat sugar. We also can't have starches or different kinds of syrups found in most processed foods.

              When I have to eat on the run... I get From:

              McDonald's - Double Cheeseburger and I eat it off the bun and a Side Salad with Ranch Dressing

              Hardees- Low Carb Burger, Green Beans

              Wendy's - I usually do The Blt Chicken Salad with Ranch Dressing.

              I try NOT to eat at these places often...but they don't usually bother me.. Of course I would like to eat all my meals at home..but I have two teenagers and that is NOT possible

                Many fast food outlets have nutrition info on their websites so you can look it up before ordering.

                  Chipotle...
                  I get a "Borrito Bowl", with either Chicken, Pork, Beef, or Steak, and then add Cheese, sour cream, and lettuce.

                  Does the job every time, and only a 3 carbs.

                    I usually stick with a salad...with casear or ranch dressing..cant go wrong there

                      i always check bk.com for burger king and http://app.mcdonalds.com/bagamcmeal?process=menuitems for mcdonalds.

                      I do eat eggs, sausage, bacon, hamburger no bun, grilled chicken breast.
                      I know the carbs numbers a little high when I check them online, I think they use corn starch, sauces and such. I am not certain. But I do eat at Burger king, Mcdonalds, wendy, all the time, I know for certain it is not healthy, I don't do well bagging my lunch. I eat the grilled chicken salad at Philadelphia Mike's almost 5 days a week.
                      I know for certain, if I ever want to do a clean induction, I must stop eating at fast food for 2 weeks. Its hard for me to do.

                        I Too Eat At Mcdonalds Sometimes. I Get The Double Cheesburger And Order It With Mayo, Lettuce And Tomatoe Only. And I Get A Salad. I Did Notice That Their Ranch Dressing Has Like 9 Carbs To A Packet, So I Get The Ceasar It Has 4 Carbs.

                          When I am on my way out the door in the morning, I toss a couple of hard boiled eggs, some slices of pepperoni and some raw veggies in a plastic bag. If I'm stuck, stranded or just hungry, I'm set.
