  • Did I mess up on day one already?!

    Ugh, I took my daughter to Dairy Queen for lunch (bad day, being the first day, but I promised her).

    Thought I would have a grilled ck salad. Ordered "Light" dressing and noticed it still had LOTS of carbs. I even ditched the dressing and ate it with NOTHING on it. The salad had lettuce, bacon bits, cheese, tomatoes, cabage. I ate about 3/4 of it. When I got back to work I got online and looked at value of it and it said a "serving" (full size) was 14 grams of carbs!!!

    So if my serving size was a bit over I might have hit just 20 with lunch.

    So now I feel like I can't eat ANYTHING for dinner. Any suggestions?

    Also, Diet Rite is okay on Induction?

    It is best not to have any soda during induction, as long as you are getting your carbs from approved veggies then you are cool. Remember no more then 3 cups of lettuce per day

      The main reason in that for highish carbs is the tomatoes probably, they are quite high carb. The rest sounds fine, and I am not sure how you calcualte that they say 14 carbs, you ate 3/4 and got 20? More like you got about 10, which could be a whole lot worse. Don't worry about it too much, just be careful in future to check in advance on the carb counts if you can, and to push things like tomato to one side. A bit easy on the onion also.

      Just have a dinner with as few carbs as you can.

      By the way always avoid Light dressings like the plague, or anything that says 'Light' for that matter. The light bit refers to fat, which is not a problem for you, and they are invariably higher, often a LOT higher, in carbs than the standard versions. Just look at the back of an ordinary Hellmanns jar and then a light one and prepare to be shocked!! Maybe the cheese in the salad was some kind of 'light' cheese also - which would be higher in carbs.

        Thanks! I had a hard boil egg and some bacon for dinner (wasn't real hungry). So I think I am okay.........

          read it , copy it , print it , its a way of life , I know you can do it. don't worry about yesterday.
