  • Dizzy and weak

I am just now starting to feel the effects of the diet and I am on my 3rd day and I have to say that this is very uncomfortable and I don't like it. I know everyone says that you will get weak, have headaches, and possibly mild dizziness. I am assuming the hot flashes I am getting are due to my body burning fat as I never get hot flashes and I am not on any medications that would cause this. I want to lie down and rest but can't because I am at work. Good thing I get off work in 1.5 hours. I just all of a sudden started getting this hellacious headache and feeling weak just out of the blue.

I have not eaten any junk for 3 days but I screwed up and didn't realize aspertame was in sugar free jello.

Anyone have any ideas of suggestions? <mind you I was used to eating like 5 little debbie snacks, 2 mini bags of doritos, sodas, and anything else that was junk in the evening while watching tv shows and nibbling at my computer at work, and now I can tell that my body is screaming bloody murder at me for not junking it up some more>

if your dizzy , sit down, don't hurt yourself.
if its just a bad feeling, try to walk and drink water.
remember you changing how your body gets fuel.
You are detoxing from carbs and are becoming a fat burning furnace.
    You can do it!

Your body has become so addicted to carbs & sugar that you are more or less going through a detox ... It goes away and then you will feel better then ever !! Once you have been eating good (low carb) for a few weeks .. you will be so surprised about how good you feel .. and realize how horrible you felt before .. thats what happened to me anyway

        Good Luck !!

          Re: Dizzy and weak

Hi there! Hang in there!!! Ive done this 6 or 7 times and everytime the induction flu has been worse and lasted longer. Last night at work, I thought I would pass out everytime I stood up and I was just plain ol SICK!! It totally sucks, but you really have to look at it in the sense that its your body changing over to burning fat, so its working. You will feel so much better ( physically and mentally ) after this is over. It usually doesnt last more than a few days, just dont give up! If youre having the dizzies real bad, try eating some veggies and drink a bunch of water, you may have to force youreself to do it but it sure did work for me. If youre feeling low, check out Deek Deek for inspiration...you look fabulous girl!!!

You know, when I went on induction about two years ago, I fainted in my bathroom. I found out it was because I hadn't eaten breakfast yet, and showered before I ate. When I ate quicker in the morning, I didn't have this problem any more.

Hang in there! I am on day 6, and Days 4-5 I was having the same thing, even some mild ones today.. Remember to snack on foods that are acceptable, be sure to be taking your vitamin in the morning and drink 90-100 oz of water daily.. You will get through it, and it will be worth it!

As the others have said... hang in there. Induction flu lasts a few days typically and after that you'll feel revitalised and wonderful. It's sooooo worth gritting your teeth and getting through it.

Make sure you eat every six hours minimum (even just a snack if you aren't hungry) during the day. Also keep a high fat snack handy at all times to help with cravings and to hit the spot if you feel faint.

The best thing to do is to eat, eat, eat. The first few days of inducion I try to eat lots of fat. My favorite snacks are devilled eggs and coleslaw with lots of mayo.
My doctor told me to stop having intimate dinners for four. Unless there are three other people.

I found that I need more to eat for breakfast than what I was eating otherwise I feel all wierd and icky. I have found I need to eat every few hours. So hopefully that'll do the trick.

                        Re: Dizzy and weak

I am on day 11 of induction and today I feel a little dizzy and weak too! And my muscles in my legs hurt a little. I wonder if these are symptoms of induction flu. I ate breakfast today and lunch, and drank lots of water, & took my potassium and regular vitamin. I need to get on my treadmill in soon, but really don't feel like I have the energy. Uuugghh, the pain of it all ;o)
