Fitday goals? Very confusing!

  • Fitday goals? Very confusing!

    I am trying to fill out my goals section on fitday and I don't know what to put for most things because of the measurements they give you for choices. I know what percent daily I am supposed to be in for protein, fat and carbs but I don't know how many grams of fat I should be eating each day or how many grams of protein I should be eating either. There are are more goals that I wanted to make other than those three such as...

    Sodium: how many mg should I be under a day
    Potassium: How many mg should I reach each day
    Fiber: How many grams of fiber should I have each day
    Water: How many grams of water should I have each day
    Magnesium: How many mg of this do I need each day
    Fat: How many grams
    Protein: How many grams
    Calcium: How many mg do I need of this a day
    B6: How many mg
    B12: How many mg

    If I am making this more complicated than it needs to be than let me know but I am concerned with getting everything that my body needs each day because I really want to make sure that I am not only losing weight but also really taking good care of myself! Since this is my first attempt at really taking care of my self I don't know any of this stuff yet

    The only thing you need to add as a goal is fibre, it doesnt matter what you put as that goal, you just want it to show up in your breakdown so you can deduct it from your carb totals.

    Ignore the other stuff that will just over-complicate the situation!

      I would not bother about entering goals for vitamins and minerals either. Fitday will show you how much of what they calculate is the Recommended daily allowance (RDA) for that anyway, so you can see how what you are eating measures up to an 'average' person's needs.

      F/60 yrs/5ft 5.5" (Though due to collapsing vertebrae I am now only 5'3" - but I refuse to recalculate my BMI )
