  • I'm a picker!

I can honestly say I don't enjoy food all that much. Yes, I occasionally enjoy a Volcano brownie from The Rainforest Cafe, and Tiramisu from Olive Garden, but I look forward to the Olive Garden's salad and the Rainforest Cafe's Asian Salad. I could literally live on salads!

I hate cooking but have to because of my family. I am not a morning eater and don't think about food. Sometimes it will be 4:00 in the afternoon when I realize I haven't eaten yet. THAT is my food problem... I just have no interest in it. I need to eat instead of waiting until the last minute when I suddenly realize I am STARVING and then shove anything in front of me down my throat.

I do know what I need to do, it's just a matter of doing it. I need to eat.

Anyway, my question (thanks for listening to my rant above)...

I started Induction and am trying VERY hard to make myself eat. I love all the foods, have no problem with them, but for 4 days haven't had a single "meal". I just pick. I have all the veggies and meats that I am allowed cut up, prepared and ready. Each time I walk past the frig I grab a few pieces of something. (I take that back, I did make a couple of omlettes if that is considered a meal). Is this OK? How important is it to your body to actually have a "meal". Does it matter??? The way I am eating now I probably eat around 2 oz's of something (sometimes more) around every 15 or 20 minutes. Is my "picking" okay?

I pick too. I can't eat a 'meal'. My appetite is supressed, so picking is how I go. You're constantly fueling your body, I would say that's better than not eating at all. Just keep track of your numbers!

Wow, you look amazing! Only 8 lbs. more to go!!!!!!!

I have been using Fitday.com to keep track of everything. Should I look at anything other than carbs? It seems I have been eating around 8-900 calories a day and 10 - 15 carbs and they are coming from veggies. But I AM eating.

Lot's of chicken and ham, and all sorts of veggies and some eggs. Lot's of lettuce too. I found a 0 carb dressing that I hope is OK to use. I use the Greek which says zero carbs, but before I started Atkins I was addicted to their Balsamic Vinagrette. http://www.cindyskitchen.biz/

try adding a little fat too, cream cheese or sour cream of hwc or butter, something. This is a fat based woe, I notice the more fat I have the more loss I have. You need to check your calories, they may be too low. the fat will help up them some. Thanks for your compliment. It feels great. Nothing in my life has ever happened to me to make me as happy as losing the weight has.

Thank you! I will try to do that. I guess I have low-fat programmed into
my head. I started a journal and posted in it that I was on a low-fat
diet for a long time. It's hard to re-adjust.
