Salad ruining carb count?

  • Salad ruining carb count?

    Checking on fitday.com I'm finding that I'm eating too many carbs by way of salads. I enjoy very few cooked veggies. Broccoli, zuchini, squash. I've only lost 5 pounds thru induction (I'm on day 11) and pretty dissapointed.
    Maybe I'm too small for induction to have the same impact that it has on most people.

    Any help would be great.

    First off, it's almost impossible to eat too many card by way of salad if your salad is mostly lettuce. So, tell us exactly what is in this "salad" you are eating?

    Second, are you deducting the fiber from your total carb count to get the net carb count? The 20 gram a day rule is for NET carbs which is total carb MINUS the fiber.

    Third, Congratulations on the 5 lbs you've lost! That's terrific and is almost 28% of the amount you are tring to lose. Dr. Atkins said in the book that we can expect to lose 5-10% during induction and you've exceeded that by leaps and bounds!!! You are WAYYYYY ahead of the game.

      Hehehe. I had my portions wrong. I'm only at 16 carbs for the day. Guess I should bust out the cheese?

      When you says 28% it DOES make me look at it completely different. I guess I was looking for that 10 lbs. that I see everyone else posting. But I'm at a different starting point where that wouldn't be realistic for me.

      I appreciate the encouragement...I was going to eat a cookie and sulk.

        CHeese isn't that big in carbs as long as your eating the allowed amount. There is a place on this site that tells you the allowed amounts but can't remember where lol Any help where that is anyone?

          Hi Darcie
          Congratulations on that 28% weightloss - you are doing great
          Remember, that 20 net carbs is a maximum and we are meant to eat till satisfied, not stuffed! So no need to eat extra food just because you have 'spare' carbs left in your carb allowance
          Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

            I think 5lbs is AWESOME... You only have 12lbs to go until Goal.. Even as big as I am only lose about 8 on induction.. How tall are you? Cause 118 seems very small.... when you feel discouraged..try to remember how much BETTER you feel and the numbers will catch up
