  • Travel on Induction?

    So,
I have to travel for an interview next week and was wondering if anyone had any pointers for food on the road. In the airport and on the plane. Since i won't be able to bring anything through security i will have to buy there. It's about a 6 hour flight.... I will eat breakfast before i leave in the morning. I REALLY want to stay on plan while i am traveling...

THey should let you take snacks. Boil some eggs and bring them with you in your purse.

Or make some cheese 'crackers' by microwaving small cubes or piles of cheese till hard and crispy to take with you in your bag or pockets.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Last time I flew they took my dried ice out of my cooler bag. I was sort of expecting it, but thought I'd give it a try as it's only liquid when unfrozen. No dice.
Had lots of goodies in the cooler bag that went through ok: cheese, tomatoes, avocado, cold chicken.
I didn't starve, Lol. Takes a bit of planning but it's quite doable.

Hi, I had a thought about the cooler bags, could you buy a little container that closes firmly and then once you are through security maybe buy some ice and put it in there and then throw it in the cooler bag. It may not work to keep everything extremely cold but it should be able to keep it cool no? That would give you a little more variety of what you can take maybe.

I think most veggies would handle the trip OK with or without refrigeration, as would cheesesticks. Homemade beef jerky would also work well!

I was actually just going to ask about this as I may have to go to DENVER, CO in the next cpl of months. I am not sure for how long. I would honestly get a note from your doctor stating that it is medically necessary for you to have a small snack that YOU take on the plane to maybe help to let it get by. But I don't know that a DR. would do that unless he is part of your medical supervision on the diet. <shrugs> but i would make sure just in case that you eat a good breakfast before flying.

                Re: Travel on Induction?

and if for some reason you CAN'T bring your own food .. find stuff there that is LOW CARB !!! you can do it .. i'v found there is almost Always SOMETHING i can eat where ever i am ..some chicken .. some veggies ... something ... and whatever happens dont give up .. absolute worst case you cant find ANYTHING (which i doubt) drink lots of water and eat when you get there .. try eatting a big meal before you go so you wont be hungry ..

I remember once i was so hungry and at a work event that i couldnt leave .. all they had was pizza and chips & cookies, donuts etc... nothing low carb .. so i just ate the toppings off a pizza .. haha i mush have had 5 slices .. but the cheese & meat & veggies filled me up and i didnt ruin my diet .. my point is WHERE THERES A WILL THERES A WAY !!

Good LucK... I know you can do it !!!

Yes...these are excellent! And I have eaten pizza toppings many a time in dire straights at airports.
