Hi all - so glad I found this site! Tomorrow is day 7 for me and I'm in somewhat of a state of shock as I've lost 4 lbs during that time AND I'M NOT HUNGRY! To me this is a miracle. I have a clean induction so far and plan to keep it that way. I started by going to the Atkins site but so glad I came here because I would have missed some things - like the 3 cups of vegetables and the 3-4 oz cheese limit. I also wouldn't have known about my BMR and using that as a guide for calories. It's just good confirmation because when I enter my daily food in fit day it just seems to work out % wise the way it has been recommended.

I was doing WW starting in October and had lost 8 lbs to January - that was ok but I was getting frustrated and had alot of cravings.

I can't believe I don't have cravings? I keep waiting for the bubble to burst - I know I'm only on 6 days, but will it get worse? Should I gear up for some tough times?

I have been a raving carb maniac for as long as I can remember - pasta, bread, potatoes, rice. I'm not missing them or craving them - I find this bizarre but I am so hopeful!

So I will stay on this board till I reach my goal and beyond that - and learn from everyone and be thankful that maybe I found the way of life that is right for me.

WELCOME!! I totally agree w/ you about this diet. For the past 2 years I have done low calorie and have lost 30lbs, however I was always hungry and wondering what I was going to eat next. With Atkins I hardly think about what I am going to eat b/c I am never hungry. I almost have to force myself to eat...which is SOOOO much better then starving all day! Again, welcome and best of luck to you!

Congrats on the 4 pounds. I'm on day 6 too and I've lost 3 or 4 pounds. The scale keeps changing, which I've read is normal. I'm so grateful to not feel hungry all the time too! It's much different than other diets I've been on--like WW. I'm not having craving either. I felt sick on day 4 and really bad on day 5 so hopefully you are in the clear. I feel much better today! The sick/flu feeling was bearable but I'm glad it's over! Good luck!

Losing your appetite is one of the wonderful things about Atkins! It happened to me the last time around, and again this time. It's totally normal!
